I am fortunate to be the father of three smart, capable young adults. I’ve always said they get their drive from their father, and their smarts from their mother.
Madeleine Beihl graduated from University of New Hampshire in 2012 with a degree in American History. She works as an educator at Strawbery Banke Museum, running the summer camp programs and serves as a costumed interpreter.
Claire Beihl graduated from Skidmore College in 2014 with a degree in Spanish. Her junior year, she spent a year in Madrid for a study abroad program, and has now returned for at least a year. While fluent in Spanish and French, she teaches English at a private bilingual school in suburban Madrid called Colegio Mirasul. She’s considering graduate school in education when she returns.
Ethan Beihl graduates in 2015 from Stony Brook University on Long Island with a degree in mathematics. He’s expressed interest in teaching mathematics for a year or two before entering graduate school. He’s served on the staff at Hampshire College Summer Studies in Mathematics, where he attended as a high school junior. He’s also a talented musician and composer.
My spouse of 30 years, Jeanmarie White shares my love of the outdoors, is the executive vice-president of UST Brands, a manufacturer and marketer of outdoor survival equipment for camping, backpacking, hunting, fishing and marine environments. There’s nothing Jeana likes more than paddling a kayak with her 13-year-old puppy on board, Chessie. Jeana previously worked with Eastern Mountain Sports, W.S. Badger Company and Essential Gear.
