Friends often make the comment, “I didn’t know you were a photographer.” Back in the mid 70s, I started using my father’s Yashika medium format camera and a Weston light meter. Thanks to the coaching my high school teacher Charles B, I learned both color and b&w lab work, and went on to become the photo editor of the Michigan State University yearbook, the Red Cedar Log. After I embarked on my career in magazines, and with kids, Scouts, college expenses, I took fewer pictures for a couple of decades. With not enough money to justify the transition to good digital equipment, I muddled through until just a few years ago. Thanks to Jeana and the kids, a mid-range Canon stoked my interest in shooting again. It’s been a fun couple of years. I hope you enjoy my recent work.
